I'MMATERIAL explores the productive tension between craft mastery and conceptual rebellion.

Juxtaposing classical applications of high-craft materials like vitreous enamel, silversmithing and inherited silk kimono fabrics, Chino creates sculptures, tapestries, and installations that question and demonstrate how traditional materials can become effective vehicles for exploring topics of identity, cultural belonging, displacement, and the nature of worth.
